ABOUT THE ARTIST
Leo Yamada
Painter & visual artist (Japan)
Leo Yamada is a Japanese artist born in 1990. He was an interior architecture student at ICS College of Arts in Tokyo. He obtained master’s degree from Ecole de Condé in Lyon, France in 2018. During his childhood, he was influenced by his grandmother, who was a painter and art teacher. In terms of art creation, he is influenced by Japanese pop culture, personal history and pop artists. His personage Kasa represents a portrait of a person in this time. He oscillates between a pop and cynical character. He is elusive. Through his artworks, he tries to capture a phenomenon in the digital society today.
